What you should see your dentist for:
Broken Teeth/Chipped Teeth: Broken teeth can come to be if you have trauma to the mouth. You can have other reasons for broken teeth as well. Broken teeth could be caused by infection, auto-immune disease, and tooth decay. If you have a broken tooth the first thing you should do is wash your mouth out with warm water. Look at the warm water wash after you spit and see if there is any blood in your mouth. If there is a copious amount of blood then make sure to apply pressure to the area to stop the bleeding. The bleeding should stop with pressure and time. If you are taking aspirin or other blood thinners this time may be prolonged. Once the bleeding has stopped make sure to put a cold compress on the mouth. This cold compress will help with the inflammation. The next step is to go to your dentist as soon as possible. Toothache: When you have toothaches, they can be some of the worst pain imaginable. We understand how bad your tooth pain can be and that is why we offer these emergency services. If you have toothaches there could be many causes. There could be infection, autoimmune disease, gum disease, cancer, and tooth decay. There are a host of things that could cause tooth pain so make sure to go to your local dentist to be evaluated. Make sure to rinse your mouth out with warm water. After you dispel the warm water from your mouth inspect for any blood. If there is bleeding apply pressure with gauze, cotton balls, or paper towels. Once the bleeding is stopped then put a cold compress on the area to relieve the pain. Ibuprofen and Tylenol are good at relieving pain but do not use aspirin if there is blood.
Loose Teeth: If you have loose teeth it could be the result of trauma, infection or gum disease. Make sure to talk to your dentist right away. A loose tooth can turn into a dislodged tooth if not enough care is given to the situation. It is crucial that you get evaluated immediately for loose teeth. If you have a loose tooth use a warm water wash and put it in your mouth. Dispel the wash from your mouth and look for any signs of blood. If blood is present stop the bleeding with pressure from a cotton swab or gauze. If there is pain ibuprofen or Tylenol. Ice packs work well for swollen gums and painful toothaches that may accompany loose teeth.
Lost Temporary Crown: If you have lost a temporary crown it is imperative that you contact us to get the new temporary put back on your tooth. If your temporary is out for to long your mouth will re-adjust and it is likely that your permanent will not fit on your new jaw structure. If this happens then the entire crown has to be redone.
